New EHR feature

In August 2022, Oracle Cerner released information detailing a collaboration with Hazelden Betty Ford in which the non-profit organization is offering a newly integrated system to lessen the strains of addiction treatment. This will be introduced with the help of Xealth’s digital therapeutics platform. Xealth is an organization that has been working with Oracle Cerner since 2020, offering their services that provides digital health tools to healthcare providers through apps and other remote devices. Using the new system, individuals suffering from addiction and mental health issues will receive more thorough treatment from clinicians, with clinicians being given the ability to offer digital care.

Clinicians will issue digital aid in various forms including education on therapy, in addition to workshops and exercises to improve the road to recovery. This is done through the new integration to Oracle Cerner’s EHR, giving clinicians access to a central content repository. The patients will access and view the provided information through their patient portal included in the health record. Additionally, if individual patients choose to avail of in person or online appointments, the same information will also be accessible.

Digital health is proving to reshape patient care and helps enable caregivers to create more engaging and effective patient experiences,” said Bob Kopanic, Oracle Cerner senior vice president of North American client relationships. “This integration makes it easier for clinical staff to do their most important work – caring for their patients. We’re pleased to help make it easier for Hazelden Betty Ford caregivers to meet patients where they are with digital health content that is easy to access and consume when and where they’d like to.”
